Amanda and Bonnie had a beautifully vibrant wedding amidst the gardens at Phipps Conservatory! A late summer day with a touch of rain in the morning blossomed into a gorgeous evening at Schenley Park Visitors Center. Each of their vendors made A + B’s day so wonderful, and it was a treat to be part of such an intentional, joyful wedding day.
Getting Ready
A + B both chose to get ready at the Oaklander Hotel, aptly named for its convenient location in central Oakland. A’s suite was a gorgeous space to capture her baby blue and cream details, including her florals from the incredible Community Flower Shop. The background held a beautiful view of the Cathedral of Learning, and we managed to sneak it in the background of a few of her final getting ready photos!

B also had a perfect getting ready space, full of great light and room for celebration. A + B chose to exchange gifts with each other after they were ready, and some of their wedding party delivered B’s straight to the room. A bottle of craft whiskey was Amanda’s gift to Bonnie, as Bonnie works in hospitality and enjoys a good glass from time to time! To celebrate the exciting day ahead of them, Bonnie and some of the wedding party shared a toast before they departed for the next part of the day.

First Look + Private Vows
A + B opted for more of an intimate moment in front of Phipps’ Botany Hall to share their vows and see each other for the first time on their wedding day. It was a wonderfully tender time, and the greenery surrounding Botany Hall made for an even more quiet, private experience.

Couples Portraits
A + B (like myself!) are both graduates from Duquesne University, so of course we had to take a little trip over to the campus for some couples portraits before their ceremony began. Because their wedding was over Labor Day weekend, the campus was unusually empty, which allowed for us to have some wonderful time alone throughout some of the picturesque spots across the university!

Ceremony
A + B’s ceremony was held inside of Phipps’ Broderie Room, which you can see was in perfect full bloom for this time of the year! The vibrant and colorful flowers provided a perfect backdrop for such a happy and upbeat celebration.

Reception Details
A + B hosted the remainder of their day at Schenley Park Visitors Center, which was adorned with more incredible florals from Community Flower Shop, rentals from The 1978 Collection and topped off with string lights and a disco ball. Dahlia’s By Design brought this reception design to life, and didn’t it look so lovely?!

Reception + More
A + B continued their evening with a sweet and romantic first dance, one of the best wedding dinners I’ve ever had by the incredible Black Radish Kitchen, and a few more intimate couples portraits away from the action. This was truly an amazing day, and if you’re wondering if a Phipps/Schenley Visitors Center wedding day is for you – let this be your sign!
